Ceres-Negros FC secured back-to-back wins over Stallion Laguna FC, beating them 6-2 earlier this week at the Biñan Football Stadium.

Scoring opened quickly for the visitors after striker Patrick Reichelt and midfielder OJ Porteria each scoring in the 9th and 10th minute, respectively, putting Ceres up 2-0. The score remained unchanged throughout the rest of the first half.

Midfielder Mike Ott made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute. Shortly after, after accidentally heading a ball into his own goal, Stallion defender Jason Cordova put the Negrense side up 4-0.

In the 64th minute, following a series of passes across the face of goal, Ceres midfielder Kevin Ingreso made it 5-0.

By the 71st minute, Porteria earned a brace and gave the Negrense side a commanding 6-0 lead.

Unfortunately, Ceres keeper Toni Doblas was unable to keep a clean sheet with Stallion striker Abou Sy scoring in the 73rd minute and midfielder Fitch Arboleda adding another goal in the 77th minute.

After Kaya FC-Iloilo lost 3-2 to Global Cebu FC last week, Ceres’ win extended their lead atop the Philippines Football League (PFL) table with 24 points. Kaya trails by eight points in second place.

Ceres returns to the Biñan Football Stadium tomorrow, June 2, for a match against JPV Marikina FC./JSG, WDJ
