The Department of Health-Region VI (DOH-6), in partnership with the National Commission for Indigenous People, the Hinoba-an municipal government, among other agencies, led the “Hugpong sang mga Tumandok” event last week, which provided free medical consultations and dental services.

Around 600 indigenous residents took part in the event.

Hinoba-an Mayor Ernesto Estrao led the distribution of water and family packs, which included various toiletry items.

Corn seeds and donated clothing were also provided for families.

The local indigenous population is comprised of the Bukidnon-Magahat.

According to DOH-6 indigenous people focal person Kristine Solas, the event takes place twice a year./WDJ
