Monsignor Louie Galbines was formally consecrated as bishop yesterday morning at the San Sebastian Cathedral and is set to take his new post as head of the Diocese of Kabankalan today, May 29.
The episcopal ordination was attended by bishops from across the country, led by former Manila Archbishop Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales; Secretary to the Papal Nuncio in the Philippines, Monsignor Gabriel Viola; and priests from the Dioceses of Kabankalan, San Carlos, and Bacolod.
Following his ordination, Galbines expressed his appreciation for the dioceses in Negros for their prayers and support.
He also asked the faithful for prayers in light of his new position as Kabankalan bishop, as well as urging everyone to help him in doing more good for the people of God and the church.
Galbines’ formal installation as Kabankalan bishop is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Kabankalan City, which is expected to be attended by hundreds of local Catholic faithful./DGB, WDJ
