Ceres-Negros FC midfielder Bienvenido Marañón’s second half brace cemented his side’s come from behind win over Stallion Laguna FC in the ongoing 2018 Philippines Football League (PFL) at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna over the weekend,
The Negrense side entered the second half down 2-0 after Stallion midfielder Jesus Melliza scored in the 9th and 25th minutes.
In the 55th minute, Ceres midfielder Stephan Schröck pulled one back, landing a header off a pass from midfielder Manuel Ott.
Three minutes later, Ott’s brother, Mike, delivered a pass to fellow midfielder Marañón, who scored the equalizer.
Shortly after, following a tackle by Stallion defender Reynald Villareal on Marañón, Ceres was awarded a penalty, which the latter successfully converted, putting the Bacolod City-based side on top, 3-2.
The two clubs meet again on Wednesday, May 30, at the same venue./JSG, WDJ
