Bago City collects medals in arnis

The Bago City arnis team collected several medals in the 2018 Philippine National Games, which took place in Cebu City.
The team collected two gold, three silver, and five bronze medals.
Leizl Matulac won gold in the individual unidentical weapon category, while Joram Paul Pangcobila topped the featherweight full contact category.
Also competing in full contact events, John Michael Escleto won silver in the extra lightweight class, Jhunnie Rhey Pangcobila took silver in the lightweight division, Christian Reyes earned bronze in the middleweight category, Carl Michael Romero was awarded bronze in the bantamweight class, and Aireen Joy de la Cruz took bronze in the junior bantamweight division.
In other arnis competitions, Junary Garcia took silver in the individual single weapon category, de la Cruz won bronze for individual single weapon in the junior division, and Ellah Alvarado was awarded bronze for traditional anyo events.
Overall, Bacolod City finished in 13th place, winning 10 gold, 10 silver, and two bronze medals; while Negros Occidental placed 21st, collecting seven gold, four silver, and five bronze medals.
Cebu City, which hosted the competition, won with 41 gold, 54 silver, and 67 bronze medals./JSG, WDJ
