The Lovers N Pares team, comprised of Police Officer 3 Ernie Abanco and his wife, Stella Mar, recently won the 2018 Mansilingan Chess Team Duo Chess Tournament at the Mansilingan Chess Society Training Center in Bacolod City.

The pair finished with a total 9.5 points.

The D Comrades pair of Ted Ian Montoyo and Handum Tuazon came in second place, followed by PTSCT, made up of Francis Glen Panes and Rommel Agravante.

Meanwhile, the top duos in each category were recognized. Janjan Magalona and John Vincent Merabe of Vendetta won in Class A, Almar Franco and Edgar Segovia, Jr. won in Class B, Neil Vincent Cena and Clark Ken Pelione of ManChess Kids – 16U, and Einre Mar Abanco and Lenon Cerado of Check Boys – 12U./JSG, WDJ
