Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, visited Bacolod City yesterday to personally commend Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) personnel for an operation that resulted in the neutralization of Bacolod City drug lord Ramie Poja, along with their performance in the recent Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) challenge competition held in Iloilo City.

Among those recognized for the Poja operation were BCPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo; BCPO deputy director, Police Superintendent Leonardo Borromeo; Police Station 3 (PS3) commander, Police Senior Inspector Victor Paulino; City Drug Enforcement Unit assistant team leader, Police Inspector Adrian James Albaytar; and PS3 operatives, the BCPO special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team, and the Bacolod City Mobile Force Company.

Meanwhile, Police Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, who led the BCPO’s 122-strong CDM contingent in the recently-held regional competition in Iloilo City, was also awarded for leading his unit, who won the competition.

The BCPO CDM team also qualified for the national CDM challenge competition, which will be hosted by the Philippine National Police.

Following the awarding ceremonies, Binag said neutralizing Poja was a big blow to the city’s illegal drug trade, adding the drug lord’s death serves as a warning to other local drug personalities./DGB, WDJ
