At least one house was confirmed destroyed after a tornado touched down Sunday evening in Barangay Caliling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

According to a report submitted by Barangay Caliling Captain Calib Muyco, the area experienced heavy downpour around 6:00 p.m.

The rain was also accompanied by strong winds, which formed a tornado.

The tornado struck a house made of light materials, leaving it completely destroyed, along with uprooting several trees.

The homeowners were away during the incident.

Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office officials have already coordinated with the victims./DGB, WDJ
