A woman was found strangled to death Saturday morning inside a traveler’s inn located along De Leon Street in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as Jennelyn Besa, a resident of Barangay 1 in Manapla.
Initial investigations by Victorias City police, said, around 12:45 a.m., they received a call from inn receptionist Jose Monserate claiming he found Besa lifeless inside a bathroom.
Police soon arrived and found Besa was strangled with a handkerchief.
When police interviewed the receptionist, they determined a certain ‘Jimmy’ checked in to Besa’s room.
The receptionist initially thought the occupants were extending their stay as he saw Besa’s bag when he initially checked the room.
However, when he rechecked a few hours later, no one answered the door, prompting Monserate to enter the room and discovered the remains.
Investigators noted, the establishment’s close circuit television cameras were not in operation at the time of the incident, however, the victim’s family coordinated with the police station, resulting in identifying a possible suspect./DGB, WDJ
