A truck driver was wounded after he was chased down and shot by a suspected robber Monday evening in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City.

Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Jimmy Arturo, a resident of Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City.

Based on investigations by Sagay City police, Arturo was in Barangay Dian-ay, located in neighboring Escalante City, when he noticed the suspect, identified by the alias ‘Metoda,’ was following him.

The suspect made several attempts to stop Arturo’s truck, but the victim refused as he believed a robbery was going to take place.

The suspect eventually gave up after reaching Sagay City, however, he shot Arturo several times, striking his left upper thigh, before fleeing.

Arturo was rushed to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic, but was later transferred to the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

Police are presently hunting down the suspect./DGB, WDJ
