Governor leads groundbreaking for new DOH-6 office

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. recently led the groundbreaking for the new Department of Health-Region VI (DOH-6) office in Barangay Bolong Oeste in Santa Barbara, Iloilo.

“This is a dream come true,” he said. “This will go a long way in addressing the needs of the people in so far as health is concerned.”

The current DOH-6 office is located within the Western Visayas Medical Center, located in the Mandurriao district of Iloilo City.

The structure will sit on over 9,000 square meters of land, which will also accommodate regional offices for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), National Nutrition Council, and Commission on Population.

Also present at the event were DOH-7 Director Jaime Bernadas, Santa Barbara Mayor Dennis Superficial, Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, and Provincial Legal Officer Dennis Ventilacion./WDJ
