A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he was hit by a yellow cane truck late Tuesday evening at Bangga Bagul in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Michael Muñoz, a resident of Barangay Balaring in the said city.

Traffic investigators from the Silay City Police Station said the victim was heading north on his motorcycle when the cane truck, which was heading south, collided with him.

The impact mangled Muñoz’s motorcycle, while the victim sustained a fatal injury to the head.

Witnesses attempted to stop the truck, but the driver fled after the incident.

Silay City police are presently trying to trace the location of the truck and its driver, who may face vehicular manslaughter charges./DGB, WDJ
