Following a DNA test conducted by the Iloilo Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office, the government agency recently revealed the body found last month in a septic tank in Hwaseong City, South Korea was that of a missing factory worker from Iloilo.

34-year-old Angelo Camen Claveria of Cabatuan, Iloilo had been reported missing since 2016, with his family seeking assistance earlier this year in February.

According to Iloilo DFA Consular Office officer-in-charge Anita F. Saldo, Claveria may have been murdered by a blow to the head.

Last month, a DNA test was administered for Claveria’s mother, Angelita, with matching results confirmed earlier this week by the Korean consulate.

Saldo added, their office has yet to receive an official report from the South Korean government./WDJ
