Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/UNO-R, ESJ Fyre Fyter win

Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) beat Melfern, 132-110, over the weekend in the ongoing Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym; while ESJ Fyre Fyter defeated Duke Jay Farm, 109-77.

Red House opened the game with a 29-23 first quarter lead, which they maintained through the second period, carrying a 60-53 advantage into the break.

The eventual winners continued to lead through the second half.

Japhet Caridad led the victory with 24 points, followed by Patrick Yulo with 18, Marvin Sanico – 17, Leonard Mustre – 16, Ritcher Santillan – 14, and Bell Prado – 13.

Despite the loss, Tommy Andren scored a massive 32 points for Melfern.

In the other game, Coleen Testa and George Nermal led ESJ Fyre Fyter with 20 points each, followed by Robbie Jalando-on with 12.

Meanwhile, Catsie Cadagat scored 24 points for Duke Jay Farm, while Toto Dormido contributed 23./JSG, WDJ
