A 20-year-old man was wounded after he was hacked by a teenager early Monday morning during a dance at Villa Miranda Elementary School in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as Daniel Dugol-dugol, a resident of Barangay 6-A in the said city.

Victorias City police said, around 11:30 p.m., Dugol-dugol entered the venue, when he engaged in an argument with the suspect, identified as 19-year-old John Mark Salido.

The misunderstanding was initially pacified but, a few hours later, after the victim left the event with friends, he was assaulted by Salido, who was armed with bolo.

Dugol-dugol sustained a hack wound to the back and was immediately rushed to the city’s Kaayong Lawas Foundation Medical Center. He was later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for further treatment.

Victorias City police, meanwhile, managed to arrest Salido, who currently faces criminal assault charges./DGB, WDJ
