Following last weekend’s inaugural Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival, festival chair, Bacolod City Councilor Cindy Rojas, said they are planning to make the festival a “primary attraction of the city,” set to be observed on every first Saturday of May.
Rojas said improvements are already being planned, noting she learned a lot from organizing this year’s event.
Festival Director Israel Salanga added, they are accepting suggestions on how to improve the event.
He noted, there are also plans of expanding the 300-meter long inasal grill, which stretched from the Golden Diamond Jubilee Tower to San Sebastian Street. Rojas suggested a four-kilometer grill, to be set up from Bangga Ramos to San Sebastian Street, along Lacson Street, for consideration as a Guinness world record.
She added, Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev, who was a guest of honor at the event, reportedly consumed at least four sticks of inasal during the festival.
The city councilor guaranteed he would promote the festival to Russian tourists./DGB, WDJ
