Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently issued an executive order declaring April 26, 2018, “Mark John H. Simondo Day,” recognizing the University of St. La Salle student who topped the 2017 Philippine Bar examination.

“Simondo has become the pride of Bacolod,” the order read.

The mayor issued a second order to formally congratulate the USLS alumni.

“There are indeed local talents in Bacolod City,” the second order read. “Simondo serves both as an inspiration and role model.”

Simondo, a resident of Barangay 33, scored 91.05 percent on the recent exam, making him the first to break the 90 percent mark in 15 years.

“I am glad that I made Bacolod City proud.” Simondo said. “I will do what I can in the near future to make it even more proud of me.”/WDJ
