Ceres-Negros FC beat JPV Marikina FC, 4-1, over the weekend at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila. The win kept the Bacolod City-based club atop the Philippine Football League (PFL) table.
The Negrense club opened scoring in the 8th minute with a strike from midfielder Bienvenido Marañón. Defender Jeffrey Christiaens later doubled the score in the 21st minute.
In the 31st minute, JPV Marikina defender Tsubasa Suzuki pulled one back, bringing the score to 2-1.
The one-goal margin remained through to halftime.
Into the second half, Ceres forward Patrick Reichelt earned a brace in a matter of five minutes after scoring goals in the 78th and 83rd minutes.
Ceres next meets Davao Aguilas FC on Wednesday, May 2./JSG, WDJ
