Over 5,000 are expected to take part in the 5th Iloilo Bike Festival, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 1, and run until May 6.
Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III said the event helps promote a cycling culture.
“Biking has become the Ilonggos’ hobby these days, we have a very bike-friendly environment,” he said. “Let’s firm up our stature as the ‘BIKEation’ destination of the country.”
Festival Director, Arch. Wilfredo Sy, echoed the mayor’s sentiment.
“Our goal is to be identified as the most bike-friendly city,” he said. “We have a very strong cycling community here.”
