Around 1,500 volunteers are expected in Silay City this week to begin construction on the Bon-bon Resettlement Project Phase III, a housing project being conducted by the Silay City government and Habitat for Humanity Philippines Foundation, Inc.
Activities will include house construction, house painting, a community clean-up drive, and school rehabilitation.
Prior to the main activities, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez is expected to address those gathered at 8:30 a.m.; while a construction and safety orientation will be conducted prior to building.
According to an earlier report, upon completion, the site will be comprised of 546 houses.
Earlier this year, Habitat for Humanity broke ground at the same site for a disaster-resilient housing project, which will include 100 cement-bamboo framed housing units, or 50 duplex units, with a total estimated value of P45 million./ WDJ
