Another javelin record broken by a Western Visayas athlete

After Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School student Ann Catherine Quitoy broke the Palarong Pambansa record in the secondary girls’ javelin throw earlier in the ongoing competition, Avegail Beliran of Iloilo recently won gold after setting a new record in the elementary javelin throw,

The Granada Elementary School student threw for 41.36 meters, breaking the previous record of 40.63 meters, set by Gia Bucag of the Central Visayas in 2010.

The Western Visayas also won gold in arnis with Carl Wayne Reyes, Jeremy Joseph Tanedo, and Kyle Angelo Tiron winning the elementary boys’ anyo team event./JSG, WDJ
