A teenager reportedly drowned Sunday afternoon in Ilog, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as 17-year-old Juvel Gumilla, Jr., a resident of Sitio San Ramon in Barangay Manalad of the said town.

Based on police investigations, Gumilla went for a swim with friends at a river near the victim’s home.

However, for a still undetermined reason, Gumilla later disappeared, prompting his friends to call for help.

Gumilla was recovered by rescuers and rushed to the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, but was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff./DGB, WDJ
