The Land Transportation Office (LTO) held a tricycle summit yesterday in Murcia as part of their information campaign surrounding RA 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.

LTO Provincial Law Enforcement head Renato Novero said the summit is a region-wide activity by LTO-Region 6, which seeks to educate tricycle operators on securing not just themselves, but also their passengers.

LTO-Bacolod district head Reuben Tampos, meanwhile, reminded operators that overloading, either passenger or cargo, is prohibited, especially along major roads.

They added, the summit is also a way of informing operators the LTO is serious in apprehending errant drivers, adding hefty fines await traffic violators./DGB, WDJ
