Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III recently called on city investors to adhere to safety measures with regard to construction.

“To those in the process of constructing buildings, please conform [to] safety procedures so that it [will] not cause harm to anyone who passes [near] during the construction,” he stated.

The warning came after the City Engineer’s Office closed the SM Strata Towers, located along Diversion Road, following a recent incident where a minor lost their leg.

According to City Engineer Roberto Divinagracia, the structure’s partial occupancy permit has since been temporarily withdrawn./WDJ
