Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/UNO-R, ESJ Fyre Fyter win opening games

Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) opened their Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup campaign over the weekend at Bacolod Tay Tung High School with a 75-63 win over Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV); while ESJ Fyre Fyter beat La Consolacion College-Bacolod/Davies Paint-J Squared Construction, 87-80.

CSAV led the opening period, 21-18; but later found themselves trailing, 38-31, at the half.

Red House continued to lead with a 59-50 advantage in the third period and went on to take the win.

Landry Zanjo led the victory with a huge 40 points, followed by Kevin Villafranca with 14.

In the other game, ESJ Fyre Fyter led 19-16 in the first quarter; however, Davies put up a fight in the second period, bringing the two to a 36-36 tie at the half.

Following the third quarter, ESJ Fyre Fyter were back in the lead and headed into the final period with a 65-60 lead.

John Nermal led the win with 21 points, followed by Coleen Testa with 16, Rolly Jaca – 14, and Bassieru Sackor – 11./JSG, WDJ
