A 37-year-old man was arrested by Kabankalan City police on Saturday morning after he allegedly aimed his firearm at neighbors in the city’s Barangay 8.
Police identified the suspect as Jeffrey Cipriano, a self-employed resident of the said barangay.
According to an official report by Kabankalan City police, around 9:45 a.m., they received a call from a concerned citizen claiming Cipriano was allegedly scaring the neighborhood by pointing an improvised shotgun at local residents.
Police immediately responded and found the suspect sitting on a chair with the firearm beside him.
Kabankalan City police arrested Cipriano after the suspect failed to present documents for the said firearm.
Police recovered the improvised shotgun, along with three live 12-gauge shotgun ammunition units.
Cipriano faces charges for illegal possession of firearms and is presently incarcerated at the Kabankalan City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
