A suspected thief was arrested after allegedly stealing several grocery items Wednesday morning from a small convenience store located in Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the suspect as Carlito Pareño, a resident of Barangay Lantad, Silay City.

La Castellana municipal police said the store’s owner, Valentino Segundo, saw Pareño picking up several grocery items, worth almost P330, with the store’s closed-circuit television camera, prompting him to contact police.

Pareño was later arrested by La Castellana police through a follow-up operation.

The suspect is presently facing theft charges./DGB, WDJ
