In response to recent reports claiming the Bacolod City Veterinary Office (CVO) stopped distributing anti-rabies vaccines after it was found the office was down to its final 300 vaccinations, the office clarified anti-rabies vaccines at the City Health Office (CHO) animal bites center are in short supply.
According to the CVO, their anti-rabies vaccine supply for dogs is sufficient.
CVO head, Dr. Ma. Agueda Dela Torre, said they currently have 500 vials of anti-rabies vaccines, which amounts to 50,000 doses.
She also said they do not distribute the vaccines, but immunize dogs in every barangay.
Based on data gathered between January 29 and April 4, Dela Torre said they have vaccinated a total 14,000 dogs throughout the city./DGB, WDJ
