The Iloilo City government recently provided P2 million for Tribu Panayanon, this year’s Dinagyang Festival Ati Tribe competition winner, to compete in the Aliwan Fiesta street dance competition, set to take place in Manila from April 26 to 28.

The annual Aliwan Festival celebrates the country’s biggest festivals, where the Dinagyang Festival is the defending fiesta champion.

The city, having previously provided P1 million to festival winners, said the amount is flexible.

“We need to know the breakdown of their expenses if they need more,” noted City Tourism Officer Junel Ann Divinagracia./WDJ
