Montilla: My family’s name is at stake

Isabela Town Councilor Patrick Montilla, whose family donated the lot for a public high school building, yesterday expressed concern over the delayed construction of the said project, pointing out, it has been nearly seven months since the groundbreaking, but no definite timeline for the building’s construction has been provided.
“My family’s name is at stake here,” he stressed. “Until now, we do not even know the status of the project.”
Last June, Montilla, through a special power of attorney, donated nearly 10,000 square meters of land in Hacienda San Bonifacio, located in the town’s Barangay Tinongan.
The groundbreaking took place a few months later on September 6.
Earlier, Department of Public Works and Highways 2nd Engineering District Engineer Randy Melosantos said there is already an allocation of about P38 million for a three two-storey school building.
Montilla said he hopes the project can be finished by June, before the start of the school year./DGB, WDJ
