“… And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’…” –John 20:22

If believer studied the Bible seriously, they would see the verses contain proof Jesus is God and Savior – God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We can list such proof in five general categories; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, disciples and followers of Jesus, and those who did not accept and receive Jesus. These are evident in the verses Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6, which consist of the prophecies foretelling God, Himself, would come down to earth from heaven; and John 1:1-14, Matthew 1:18-25, and Luke 1:26-37, which includes proof that the prophecies were fulfilled.

In Genesis 3, it is declared, God meted out His curses against Eve, Adam, and the serpent after the serpent succeeded in enticing Eve and Adam to sin. It would be clear, nevertheless, that Genesis 3 contained, not only God’s curses, but also the remedy God, Himself, provided in order for man’s sinfulness to be forgiven or atoned.

In Genesis 3:15, we can clearly discern God’s promise to crush the head of the wily and evil serpent. What this means is man’s sinfulness and evil ways would be certainly overcome and accomplished by the “seed” of the woman.

Who is this “seed?”

Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6 gave a very compelling explanation. In these verses, God pronounced, through Isaiah: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son which, in truth and in fact, was not an ordinary child, because that son is the “Mighty God, Everlasting Father,” Himself.

Proof of God’s coming to earth

By God’s grace and generous love, His sign came true; this was recorded in Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-37, and John 1:1-14. In these three verses, the prophecies declared in Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, and Genesis 3:15 were all confirmed.

These verses declared the unquestionable truth God, Himself, came down to earth, in the form of flesh and blood.

Matthew 1:21 and Luke 1:31 declared flatly that “Jesus” is the name of God and, as per Matthew, what “Jesus” means is “salvation of God for His people.”

On account of what we have been discussing here, there should no longer be any doubt that God, in His manifestation as the Father, graciously provided proof that He is Jesus and He was the one who came to earth and crushed the sinfulness the serpent cast on mankind.

He did this because He loved the world greatly.
