Following yesterday’s observance of World Autism Awareness Day, the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) revealed events planned in both Bacolod City and Iloilo City as part of Autism Acceptance Month, which runs throughout April.

According to the ASP, an Autism Awareness Day event will be organized this morning, April 3, by the Happy Beginners School of Learning at SM City Bacolod. While, in Iloilo City, the Department of Health will also be organizing an event this morning at the Punta Villa Resort in the city’s Arevalo district.

World Autism Awareness Day was established by the United Nations in 2008, which calls on member states and other relevant organizations to raise awareness about autism.

Autism is a condition that brings about challenges with social skills, behavior, speech, and nonverbal communication to those on the spectrum./WDJ
