The Bacolod City Police Officer (BCPO) Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) and City Intelligence Unit (CIU) recently rescued three minors in Bacolod City last Thursday, who were being pimped by another minor.
Police have refused to name the victims and the suspect, but confirmed the suspect was successfully apprehended.
BCPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, said the entrapment operation was conducted with operatives from the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) Anti-Cyber Crime Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Vargas said the law enforcement agencies got hold of information after the suspect offered the three minors on social media in exchange for money.
Operatives posed as customers and, once they handed over the P2,000 marked money to the suspect, cops moved in and rescued the three victims and brought the suspect into custody.
Vargas added the three victims and the suspect were brought to the WCPD and were later brought to separate shelters for protective custody./DGB, WDJ
