Another attempt was made against the life of Sam Aguilar, the legal operator of the Small Town Lottery (STL) in Iloilo province.

Aguilar was inside a Toyota Grandia van when a riding-in-tandem stopped alongside the van and shot the passenger side with an M16.

Senior Inspector Hermogenes Eulatic, Tigbauan police chief, said the incident happened before lunch time in Brgy. Buyu-an.

Eulatic said in a phone interview that only Aguilar was hit and none of his six companions were injured.

Based on initial investigation, Aguilar was coming from municipality of Guimbal when the incident happened. Eulatic said Aguilar just finished attending a court hearing.

Aguilar was immediately brought to a hospital in Iloilo City, where he underwent surgery. As of press time, he is under stable condition.

The police is still conducting a hot pursuit operation against the two suspects./WDJ
