The New People’s Army (NPA) Leonardo Panaligan Command, which operates in central Negros, recently claimed responsibility for last week’s killing of two brothers in Barangay Budlasan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.

In a statement by spokesperson Ka JB Regalado, the brothers, identified as Dominador and Nelson Quilanan, were “sentenced to death” by the revolutionary people’s court for murder, deception, along with “serving as agents” of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Regalado lauded the NPA unit responsible for the killings, adding they confiscated one mobile phone which he claimed came from the AFP.

He pointed out, Dominador worked as job-order personnel for the Canlaon City government and served as Barangay Green Brigade (BGB) chief.

Regalado noted, during Dominador’s stint as head of the BGB, he reportedly scammed members by withholding wages, which caused hunger to the families of those affected./DGB, WDJ
