Hundreds gathered at the EBJ Freedom Park in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique last Thursday in observance of International Women’s Day.

Antique Governor Governor Rhodora Cadiao addressed the event saying the provincial government is committed to sustaining and supporting gender and development programs throughout the province.

Gender and development advocate Ramona Pareñas served as keynote speaker for the event.

Also in attendance were Vice Governor Edgar Denosta, San Jose de Buenavista Mayor Elmer C. Untaran, Gender and Development Inter-Agency Committee (GAD-IAC) chair Rhoda Pon-an, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Director Jose Jerry Hallares, among others.

Other activities that took place that day included blood sampling, counseling, dental extractions, a demonstration and entrepreneurship training, abaca wallet making, sushi making, food processing, among other activities./WDJ
