Man nabbed by guard for fishing in Capitol lagoon

A 34-year-old man was endorsed to Police Station 2 (PS2) Tuesday evening after he was caught tilapia fishing at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon, located along Lacson Street in Bacolod City.

Police identified the suspect as Ryan Balquin, a resident of Ramylu Village in the city’s Barangay Tangub.

According to Capitol security guard Arnold Sablon, he was patrolling the lagoon grounds when he reportedly saw Balquin fishing.

Sablon immediately apprehended the suspect and reported the incident to PS2.

Police recovered six tilapia fish and a fishing rod from Balquin.

The suspect is presently detained at PS2 and faces criminal charges./DGB, WDJ
