A total of 125,279 Negros Occidental residents are expected to receive a P200 unconditional cash transfer from the government, in an effort to mitigate effects of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law.
In a radio interview yesterday, Shella Mae Lastimosa, who serves as the provincial link for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Negros Occidental, said they are currently waiting for guidelines from the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD) on how to distribute the funding.
They are also awaiting orders from the DSWD office to hire validators, who will secure the list of beneficiaries and determine if they are still living in poverty.
Lastimosa added, the P200 would be given either yearly or by semester, which the DSWD would then monitor beneficiaries./DGB, WDJ
