Agents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), backed up by Philippine Army soldiers and Sipalay City police officers, yesterday raided a warehouse owned by the Maricalum Mining Corporation (MMC) in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City.

Based on initial reports provided to Watchmen Daily Journal, the raid was led by Assistant Regional Director Horten Hernaez and Supervising Agent Darwin Lising.

Following the raid, the 21 guards at the site were invited to the NBI office in Bacolod City for questioning, while an undetermined number of firearms were seized from the guards.

As of press time, NBI agents have yet to issue further statements about the operation, although no charges will be filed against the guards who were allowed to be released except for one whose told to stay while his identity is still being verified by the agents./DGB, WDJ
