DepEd Assistant Secretary: Western Visayas is the team to beat at the 2018 Palarong Pambansa

While speaking during the recent opening ceremonies for the 2018 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet at the Iloilo Sports Complex, Department of Education (DepEd) Assistant Secretary for Procurement and Project Management Service, Atty. Revsee Escobedo, credited the quality of sports developed in the Western Visayas.

“Western Visayas will be the team to beat in this year’s Palarong Pambansa,” he affirmed. “In the history of the Palarong Pambansa, Western Visayas has been the perennial runner-up to NCR.”

Last year, when Negros Occidental was part of the now-defunct Negros Island Region (NIR), the Western Visayas finished third overall, while NIR came in fourth.

This year’s Palarong Pambansa will be hosted by Vigan, Ilocos Sur./JSG, WDJ
