The live-in partner of Alex ‘Rondoy’ Barredo, leader of the Rondoy robbery group, was arrested by the Silay City Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) in a buy-bust operation last Monday at the Antonio Luna interior in the city’s Barangay Mambulac.

Police identified the suspect as 36-year-old Mary Anne Agustine, a resident of Purok Sigay in Barangay 2, Bacolod City.

Silay City police chief, Police Superintendent Noel Polines, said operatives recovered one big and one small sachet of suspected shabu, three open sachets with traces of suspected shabu, and the P300 buy-bust money.

Polines valued the seized illicit substances at more than P20,000.

He pointed out, Agustine’s area of distribution covers much of the Negros Occidental third congressional district and Bacolod City.

The city police chief added, aside the Rondoy robbery group, Agustine is also a former member of the Aki Cuadra robbery group.

Agustine is presently detained at the Silay City Police Station and faces illegal drugs charges./DGB, WDJ
