The Iloilo City government, through the City Population Office and City Civil Registry Office, will marry 91 couples today, February 14, in a mass wedding at SM City Iloilo.
According to event organizer Chytchymua Rejaba, the event was put together to address the number of illegitimate children in the city, along those whose parents were not married.
“As of January 2013, we recorded a total of 400 couples who are not married,” she said. “Our goal is to really have these couples get married.”
Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III will officiate the ceremony, with rings to be provided by the City Hall./WDJ
