While addressing 250 visiting Filipino-Canadians over the weekend at the Bacolod City Government Center, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia suggested they invest in the city.

“Many of you, if not all, may want to invest someday,” he suggested. “You may have friends who might come to the Philippines to invest someday.”

“We wish that, when that happens, you will consider Bacolod City,” the mayor added.

The group is part of a tour dubbed “Winter Escapade 5: It’s More Fun in the Philippines,” who, while in Negros Occidental, also visited Talisay City, Silay City, Victorias City, Cadiz City, and Murcia.

Other city officials present at the event included Bacolod City First Lady Elsa Leonardia; City Councilors Em Ang, Ana Marie Palermo, Bartolome Orola, and Sonya Verdeflor; City Administrator John Orola; among others./WDJ
