Kaya FC, which played in the 2017 Philippines Football League (PFL) as Kaya FC-Makati, will officially change home venues when a memorandum of agreement is signed on Tuesday, February 6, between the club and the Iloilo provincial government.

Following an approval for the partnership by the Iloilo Provincial Board, the agreement is expected to be signed by Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr., making the Iloilo Sports Complex, located in the La Paz district of Iloilo City, the club’s new home.

According to Iloilo Provincial Football Director Edwin Caro Laru-an, the move is a “welcome development.”

“Personally I’m excited to play our home game in Iloilo,” said Kaya FC head coach Noel Marcaida. “It’s the football hotbed of the country.”

The club also boasts players with roots in the Western Visayas, including defenders Shirmar Felongco, Jalsor Soriano, and Camelo Tacusalme; midfielder Jayson Panhay; and strikers Joven Bedic and Janrick Soriano.

Last season, the club finished third in the league.

The 2018 season is set to open on March 3./JSG, WDJ
