Following a series of delays regarding items comprising Antique’s 2018 budget, the Antique Provincial Board passed the budget last week, which came to a total of P1.3 billion.
“All the necessary requirements submitted so far were found to be in order,” affirmed Board Member Errol T. Santillan.
The legislative body was previously urged on two occasions by Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao to pass a budget.
The governor first penned a letter requesting the board to continue conducting sessions in order to pass the budget, as it should have been completed last month. She also appeared before the regular session, expressing worries over having the 2017 budget reenacted in the event a 2018 budget was not passed.
Board members deliberated over matters regarding climate change, gender and development, senior citizens, among other proposed programs and projects./PLL, WDJ
