Former World Boxing Council (WBC) flyweight champion Sonny Boy Jaro is scheduled to fight in an undercard bout for the upcoming Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light flyweight title fight, scheduled for February 17 at Gaisano Mall in Bacolod City between Toboso-born Merlito ‘Tiger’ Sabillo and defending champion Edward Heno.
Jaro, born in Silay City, will meet Donny Mabao of the Cagayan Valley in an eight-round fight.
“I want to do this for my family,” he said. “I have been very generous to everyone around me and forgot to spare something for my family.”
Meanwhile, in the main fight, Sabillo, who defended his Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) lightweight title last October against Crimson Omayao, would likely qualify for a world title fight if he were to win./JSG, WDJ
