Puentevella wants Bacolod City to host weightlifting events

Philippine Weightlifting Association (PWA) President Monico Puentevella recently said he would like Bacolod City to serve as host for weightlifting events during the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, which the Philippines is expected to host in 2019.

The former Bacolod City mayor said he will consult with Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, who is serving as SEA Games organizing committee chair.

When the SEA Games were last hosted by the Philippines in 2005, Bacolod City served as host to boxing, football, weightlifting, and volleyball events./JSG, WDJ
