Puentevella: I’m really enjoying my life right now
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Former Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella yesterday said he is undecided on plans to run for office in 2019. The former mayor and congressman noted, however, if there are people calling for his candidacy, there is still have enough time to think about it.
“I’m really enjoying my life right now,” he stated, which Puentevella said was comprised of playing tennis and basketball, along with spending time with his grandchildren.
However, reports claim Puentevella is forging an alliance with Abang Lingkod Party-list Rep. Stephen Paduano and Bacolod City Councilor Ricardo Tan, with Paduano intending to seek the mayorship, Puentevella for lone district congressman, and Tan for vice mayor.
While Puentevella did not deny the claims, the former city official said he is “weighing his options.”
Puentevella added, if he does not run, he will support anybody who challenges Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and his Grupo Progreso political coalition.
“Anyone who [will] fight them, I will support,” Puentevella affirmed.
Paduano, meanwhile, stated earlier this month he has yet to decide if he would seek a different position in the upcoming elections./DGB, WDJ
