The remains of a 21-year-old woman, who was believed to have been raped before she was killed, were discovered by her brother at Sitio Liki in Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as Rena Pantallon, a resident of the said barangay.
In a radio interview yesterday afternoon, Escalante City police chief, Police Chief Inspector Rollie Pondevilla, said the victim’s brother, Jason, reported to the police station after he found the remains.
Escalante City police and members of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) visited the area to recover the body.
Pondevilla added, it was the brother who theorized the victim was raped before being killed.
Escalante City police are currently investigating the incident./DGB, WDJ
