Orange-AA Electrical defeated Capitol, 86-79, and POC beat Akasya, 54-45, in their respective semifinals, setting up a match-up in the upcoming finals of the 2017 D’League at the STI-West Negros University gym.
Capitol opened the game with a 25-21 lead in the first period; but Orange-AA Electrical later managed to catch up, and headed into the half at a 37-37 tie. The eventual finalists began pulling away in the third quarter, taking a 57-54 lead, with the same momentum carrying Orange-AA Electrical through the final period.
Joshua Abaring led the win with 15 points, followed by JP Peornato and Dave Andog scoring 12 each, and Mic Jara adding 11.
Despite the loss, Born Enaya scored a massive 25 points for Capitol, with RR dela Cruz contributing 14.
In the other semifinal, Paul Cruz led POC’s win with nine points./JSG, WDJ
